There is a spacious deck off the kitchen that faces east for the rising sun and your morning cup of coffee or tea. The front yard faces west and the afternoon sun floods the living room off the kitchen with natural light and warmth.
The house is very close to hiking trails (some maintained by Blue Hill Heritage Trust), bicycling on the Newburry Neck Road, and swimming from the local beach within a five minute drive. Kayak, canoe and paddleboards can be rented from the Activity Shop in Blue Hill. They will deliver with advanced notice. There are many places to visit and shop on the Blue Hill Peninsula, on Deer Isle and in Stonington, in Ellsworth and on Mt Desert Island including Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
We welcome you to our home in the woods where deer roam in the woods and fields, a variety of birds can be seen (including spruce grouse and woodcock) and rabbits eating clover in the yard. It's a wonderful place for a quiet retreat after a day of exploring.
