The Plateau Mont-Royal, this popular area that became yuppie-bohemian is by far the most hip in Montreal. Small intimate theaters, thrift stores, used bikes, exclusive boutiques, cafes, restaurants and delis add to the cultural ferment and bohemian atmosphere that characterize the Plateau, where all lifestyles converge.
This is the best place to really get a feel of what Montreal is all about. It’s community is predominantly francophone and highly eclectic. Artists, students, young professionals and new families mingle with each other, creating an extraordinarily vibrant and colorful human mosaic.
